Avoid the frizz
Hello Beweavers,
Every day we are noticing that the temperatures are getting warmer and more humid, but we don’t realise is that these changes in temperatures will affect our hair. Therefore, it is very important to be knowledgeable about what weather and humidity can do to your human hair weave so that you can avoid looking like a frustrated hot mess.
Many girls do not know that human hair weaves are extremely sensitive to humidity. This works in the exact same way as our natural hair. Straight hair goes wavy and curly hair turns frizzy or even curlier.
So if you are wearing a weave or have experienced the black magic of the weave, this one is for you.
In warmer months, side bonds in our hair are broken by the application of heat (natural heat or styling tools) and water (from the ocean and swimming pools). Exposing styled hair to a hot, humid environment causes these side bonds to break allowing the hair to return to its natural state, HORROR!
Summer weather can cause sun damage, which can also be harmful to your skin, and hair. In the same way, that UV rays from the sun affect the melanin in the skin, it also causes changes in the melanin in the hair.
Most of these problems can be controlled with modern styling products, but there are limits to what the products can achieve. It’s easier to limit your exposure to the elements.
SO WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
- Hair by Sisi Argan Oil treatment
1) Use Argan oil. Argan oil will help combat dryness and control frizz. It also works well to correct split-ends and give your hair extension a beautiful, healthy shine.
2) Use a Leave-in conditioner. If you don’t use a leave-in any other time of the year, you way want to consider one in the summer. A leave-in conditioner can add an extra layer of protective moisture to your hair.
3) Wear a hat, to protect your hair and your skin from the damaging effects of the sun.
- And there you have it.
