Bleach your hair according to the directions provided on the bleaching kit. Leaving the bleach in longer may yield lighter results, however, you run the risk of burning your hair, so be sure to use the correct developer strength (I used 20 volume).

Apply bleach mixture onto the hair, starting at the ends, as these take longer bleach. Wrap the hair in the foil, to speed up the process. Leave the bleach on the hair for 20 minutes (or longer maximum 30 minutes), constantly checking on the hair.

When you have achieved your desired blonde, (brassy or white) wash out the bleach. Do not do anything further (including conditioning) unless you plan to first tone your hair to white (Toning the hair to white is not needed, but is a good idea if your hair is very yellow after bleaching.) Conditioning the hair will seal your cuticle, which will make it difficult to stain the cuticle of the hair.

Step 4

My hair came out a bit brassy (yellow/orange) like in photo number 4. So, I bleached it again, because I wanted the hair to come out blue and not green (which usually happens if your hair is brassy after bleaching, so when you apply the blue dye, the hair will turn green).

Step 5

Apply the dye to damp hair, starting with the blue, closer to the top of the weft, and then green at the tips. Leave the dye on the hair for about 15 – 30 minutes, and then rinse hair.

Step 6

Allow the hair to dry naturally, and then install.
